Miras (Jahan Xanlü, Om Will, Volca) is an experimental doomgaze band based in Melbourne/Naarm, Wurundjeri Country. They mix haunting folk, ritual screaming, and pounding noise through traditional instrumentation from South-East and Central Asia to evoke the ongoing Pan-Asian ecological collapse.

Miras adalah band experimental doomgaze yang berasal Melbourne/Naarm, Wilayah Wurundjeri yang dibentuk pada tahun 2026. Band ini beranggotakan Jahan Xanlü, Om Will dan Volca. Mereka menggabungkan musik folk yang menghanyutkan, jeritan ritualistik, dan kebisingan yang menggema melalui instrumen tradisional dari Asia Tenggara dan Asia Tengah untuk memancarkan keprihatinan atas krisis ekologi yang terus terjadi di seluruhkawasan Asia.

Miras Indonesia tour 2026

Miras will be touring Indonesia in 2026 to debut their new self-titled EP, from central to eastern Java, South Sulawesi, before finally stopping off in Bali. Their debut EP is a dragon wind of sounds they have been testing in their quest to find their sonic spice mix, whilst floating down their local Merri Merri Creek. Blackgaze, Dark Folk, Post-Industrial, Doom Metal, it’s all there in bits. Their guitar broke down in the middle of recording, and a few files got lost, but it all worked out in the end.

This EP was released in July 2026 through Makassar-based label Grinding Teeth Records.

EP perdana mereka menjadi wadah eksplorasi bunyi yang cukup liar, sebuah muara dari eksperimen mereka dalam mencari "racikan bumbu khas suaranya sendiri" sembari menyusuri Sungai Merri Merri. Elemen blackgaze, dark folk, post-industrial, hingga doom metal melebur di dalamnya. Proses rekamannya pun sempat diwarnai drama gitar rusak dan file audio yang hilang, meski akhirnya semua bisa terselamatkan.

EP ini dirilis di bulan Juli 2026 oleh label berbasis di Makassar, Grinding Teeth Records, dan melakukan debut tur di Indonesia.

At Darebin & Dragons (D&D), audiences can expect an alternate presentation of multicultural music, which embraces the darker, experimental, and noisier sounds from local Darebin-based multicultural and linguistically diverse communities. The evening will include local doom-folk witches Blood of a Pomegranate and Miras, and two exciting collaborative sets, one as Korgistan Workers Party and Jahan Xanlü, and another with neko.ea and Om Will.

This dark fantasy embrace is hosted by blakrun Darebin space ShopFront740, who have been at the forefront of bringing exciting and experimental art to Darebin. Audiences can reflect on the emotional, historical, spiritual, and political threads that connect disparate traditions of melancholic and transcendent music across cultures.
